From Cllr Martyn Holland:
I have spoken to Openreach this morning and as you can see from the attached there are plans to close the road into the village (B5431) from the B5430 on the 18th to the 20th May.
BT are working once again on ducting under the road and this will involve threading new fibre optic cables from Llanarmon to the junction with the B5430. This will be done via existing BT manholes and should not involve digging up the road. After this, they will be doing the same thing along the B5430 all the way to the Rose and Crown which is good news for the up grade to Superfast BB in Graianrhyd!! The work on B5430 will involve traffic lights but no road closures.
The road will be closed in Llanarmon from 9.30am to 3.30pm and should not therefore impact on school buses or the reopening of the Raven. BT have confirmed that they plan to let service buses through but businesses should try and make alternative arrangements for delivery times etc.
Villagers should take the official detour via Llandegla but there will still be access to the village via the back road. Please take care when using the back road because as you know it is narrow and there are many bends and few passing places. Signs stating that the businesses are open as usual will be put in place at the junction with the B5430.
