Raven Newsletter
Well, where to begin........ It’s been a crazy, and unprecedented few months. Very long, and very challenging, not just for our village community, but for everyone in the area. Let’s not even mention the lockdown hair styles being sported in the village!!

For the pub, it wasn’t just about us shutting the doors at The Raven, it was also about coming to terms with not being a focal point in the village. We felt that as a community run pub it was really important that we found ways to be useful, and of service to the village. So, with that in mind, we set about looking at ways in which we could continue to sell beer, and food to our customers, which led to our weekend Raven Takeaway Service, with a small team of volunteers, enabling us to sell our Fish & Chips and Curry Dishes at break even, lockdown prices. It’s proved to be immensely popular, and it’s been so lovely to feel like part of the community again, catching up with people when they’ve come to collect their food, and having a good old laugh at some of the ‘Sealed Containers’ some of our regulars have brought for us to put their beer in ! You’ve been amazing.........and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their continued loyalty, and support. Looking to the future, we are now in a position to move forward albeit a baby step!

From 11th July, we are once again able to offer accommodation. So if you have any friends/family, who you have not seen since lockdown began, then please let them know we have accommodation available if they want to come and visit! We are also able to reopen the pub from 13th July, to serve drinks outside. Following our annual Bar price review, we are fully re-stocked, and will be reverting back to our full ‘pre lockdown’ bar menu, with the welcome return of some of your old favourites.....like Snowdonia Bitter, and draft Guinness. Our opening hours will be :
**Mon – Fri 5:00pm – 9:00pm
**Sat – Sun 2:00pm – 9:00pm
The Raven Takeaway Service will continue as usual on Friday /Saturday nights, and we hope to extend that service to include other nights as soon as we can. Some items on the menu will remain at lockdown ‘Cost’ prices, with some newer dishes increasing slightly in price, as we’ll now be expanding our staff numbers to include paid members of staff once again. We hope you’ll continue to support the pub in any way you can, through volunteering, donating, or just spending your money with us......it’s all greatly appreciated! We wanted to let you know how it’s all going to work, and about a few changes we’ve made, before reopening, which hopefully you’ll find reassuring.• We’ll have a staff member at the front door of the pub to take yourorder.• Card payments only please, and you can pay when you place yourorder.
•The marquee is up to provide as much shelter as possible, with tables for your drinks.
• Customers will still be able to enter the pub via the side door to use the toilets. Toilets will be cleaned regularly, and sanitiser will be available in the toilets for you to use.
• We’ll do our very best to ensure our staff keep a safe distance where possible when delivering drinks to you.
• We ask that you don’t move the outside tables around, as they have been positioned with thought.
• Please adhere to social distancing and use the hand sanitisers provided when needed.
• We have removed all unnecessary ‘touch’ items from in and around the pub, and especially in the toilets. So no air fresheners, vases of flowers etc.
• All of our staff will be washing their hands on a regular basis, and will be sanitising ‘touch points’ like door handles every 30 minutes.

As part of the Government Test & Trace Scheme, if you’re coming to have a drink with us, we will ask for contact details from a member of your party as per Government guidelines to ‘Test & Trace’ if needed. As we all know, things can change in an instant, and who knows what the next few months will look like. If you want to be kept up to date with what’s going on at The Raven, and you’re not already on our mailing list, then please sign up for our emails, (see below ) and most importantly, keep an eye on our Facebook page for up to date information.** Changes to our opening hours will always be posted on our Fbpage too. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.............and thank you for you continued support!
