This annual event is growing and the hills were alive with four singing groups this year. There are three pubs so I'm not sure of the logistics, maybe some doubling up! We had Côr Dewi Sant, Brymbo Male Choir, Flint Ladies Choir and Contraband. The weather was OK. Warm up in Llanarmon featured our favourite touching the knees Polish boating song; the Brymbo men look forward to this!!

Favourite view for me (photo to the left) was leaving the Sun Inn and looking along the straight bit of road to Graianrhyd. which is normally quite deserted and seeing the raggle taggle of singers plus others make their way to The Rose & Crown. Mums, dads, children and dashing about dogs ambled along avoiding the odd car. We met similar groups walking in the opposite direction and 'Hellos' were swapped.

Favourite moment was singing 'He's a Jolly Good Fellow' to Rod in The Rose & Crown. He is indeed a very jolly good fellow. He even let us rearrange his benches so that we had a stage.

Favourite song at the end, which brought a tear to my eye, was Flint Ladies, with arms round each others shoulders, singing 'Field of Barley'. It was worth all that trudging round country lanes just to hear that.

I look forward to the next Three Taverns Tour (Taith Tair Tafarn) on Sat May 6th 2017!
