Friday 9th October 2015
St. Garmon’s Church, Llanarmon-yn-Iâl.

Friday 9th October found Côr Dewi Sant back in Llarmon-yn-Iâl performing two groups of songs in support of a fund-raising concert for St Garmon’s church (organised by choir alto Mari Roberts). The principal entertainment for the evening was provided by Johnathan Davies despite him managing to fuse half the Church’s electrical circuitry before he had even begun. Some might have wished for the volume control on the amplifier to be toned down a little but on the whole people seemed to enjoy his varied repertoire. He was supported by Welsh comedian Eilir Jones as compere and comic.

Côr Dewi Sant looked splendid on the elevated staging which was used for the first time: hard work for the strong men and women responsible but definitely worthwhile. I may be a little biased but I certainly felt the choir’s contribution to the concert was the best bit! The important thing, however, is that a total of £1281 was raised for the church. The choir is now an important part of our community and we all get a lot from it so it is good too to be able to help to put something back into the community and especially the church which has helped the choir so much.
