The Old Schoolroom Community Project
The schoolroom building dates from 1777 and was formerly a church school. It has been used as a church hall and for events and meetings for many years. Facilities were limited and not helped when the roof of the kitchen extension collapsed a few years ago, making it totally unusable. Fund raising to improve the Old Schoolroom began two years ago and work was finally started on 31st January, 2011.
With the renovation now complete and the Official Opening on Saturday, 20th August, 2011 we now look forward to welcoming members of the community and further afield to The Old Schoolroom.
The Main Hall, with its original Kingpost truss and fireplace is ideal for larger events. The kitchen is fitted out to the highest standard so catering for functions couldn't be easier. On the lower floor there are two additonal meeting rooms and a small kitchen. The Garmon Room can be set up with a conference table which seats 14 or as theatre style. The Yale Room is smaller so perfect for informal gatherings.

- Would this not be an ideal place for the youth club to be held on wednesdays and a few nights after school doing crafts and pool/table tennis etc, I dont think hanging round a pub on a wednesday night is the right image for the youngsters they need somewhere warm and safe in the winter nights, Its just a thought maybe, Thank you.
