Mushroom Warning !
If you, like me, discover baskets full of beautiful, pink-gilled mushrooms appearing on the edge of fields in the area, then beware ! After coming close to putting them in the pan on a couple of occasions, I finally identiified them as Agaricus Xanthodermus (Yellow Stainer) thanks to this website http://www.mushroomdiary.co.uk/2010/08/horse-and-field-mushroom-imposter-the-yellow-stainer/
They look very similar to field mushrooms. which is probably why they are responsible for most reported mushroom poisonings in the UK. Don't eat them. They are unlikely to kill you, but you are likely to make yourself very ill.
